The perfect exposure and the enviable position were the two fundamental elements from which the design process began. The client wanted a residence with well-defined geometric shapes, made with natural materials, but rethought and used in a modern way. It was immediate to imagine an architecture made of large openings that favored light and sight, with a large living area facing the swimming pool to the south-west, while the parts dedicated to the master-room are decidedly to the south-east in order to enjoy the morning light. On the facade the natural stone slabs, very similar to the local stone - used instead to build the retaining walls and the volume to the east- alternate with black metal sheets, which englobes the ground floor and then mark the attack to the ground. The metal sheet also emphasizes the perimeter of the windows, we have created protruding pads so that the view is always directed towards the horizon. The will is to create visual and functional continuity between the inside and the outside, so enabling to live as much as possible in the openair at each season. Even the interior furnishings are all designed and costumed with this intent. The large floor slabs also continue on the outer walkway adjacent to the garden, a small Mediterranean maquis made of colors and scents, but that inevitably surprise and reinforce the unconscious memory of these places when you are away.
L'esposizione perfetta e la posizione invidiabile sono stati i due elementi fondamentali da cui il percorso progettuale ha avuto inizio. Il committente desiderava una residenza dalle forme geometriche ben definite, realizzata con materiali naturali, ma ripensati ed utilizzati in chiave moderna. È stato immediato immaginare un'architettura fatta di grandi aperture che privilegiassero la luce e la vista, con un'ampia zona giorno affacciata verso la piscina a sud-ovest, mentre le parti dedicate alla master-room sono decisamente a sud-est in modo da fruire della luce mattutina. In facciata le lastre in pietra naturale, molto simili alla pietra locale - utilizzata invece per costruire i muri di contenimento ed il volume ad est - si alternano a lastre di lamiera nera, che avvolgono il piano terra e segnano quindi l'attacco al suolo. La lamiera enfatizza inoltre il perimetro delle finestre, abbiamo creato delle imbotti aggettanti in modo che la vista sia rivolta sempre verso l'orizzonte. Nettamente ricercata la volontà di creare continuità visiva e funzionale tra il dentro ed il fuori, in modo da poter vivere il più possibile all'aperto in ogni stagione. Anche gli arredi interni sono tutti disegnati e realizzati su misura con questo intento. Le grandi lastre a pavimento continuano anche sul camminamento esterno limitrofo al giardino, una piccola macchia mediterranea fatta di colori e profumi che ti aspetti, ma che inevitabilmente sorprendono e rafforzano l'inconscio ricordo di questi luoghi quando ne sei lontano.
